Runners follow a point-to-point route from Eagle River, Wis., to nearby Three Lakes at the Three Eagle Half Marathon, which unfolds largely along the running, walking and hiking trail of the same name that stretches between the two towns. The race begins next to the Dairy Queen on West Pine Street in Eagle River, and jumps onto the Three Eagle Trail right away. There’s a roughly mile-long stretch along Sundstein Road and then it’s back onto the trail again, all the way into Three Lakes for the race finish at Don Burnside Park.
