Runners are set to start the race at the Lower Pond and then run the hilly, challenging trails of the U.S. National Whitewater Center, which organizers note are well-groomed and established trails. The half marathon is part of a weekend filled with outdoor events, including climbing challenges, obstacle races, whitewater competitions, kayak races on the Catawba River and more.
