Runners start the challenging route for the Ultra Sante Fe Trail Half Marathon at the base of Ski Santa Fe, the ski resort just a short drive from the nearby city. From there, they’ll follow a counter-clockwise route along trails through the Big Tesuque drainage before heading onto the Big Tesuque Trail itself, and later onto Aspen Vista Road. You’ll spend nearly 6 miles heading uphill the whole way until you reach the summit aid station between miles 10 and 11, and hit Deception Peak along the way. Then it’s back to Ski Santa Fe for the race finish.
