Runners start the out-and-back course for the Worcester Running Festival Half Marathon on Front Street, next to the Worcester City Hall and Common. From there, the race heads through the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, around Newton Hill Park, and back-and-forth along a T-shaped stretch between the Patch and Coes reservoirs. The only hilly stretch of the race occurs along Salisbury Street, around the mile 3 marker.
