Runners make their way along an out-and-back course at Wyoming’s Run with the Horses Half Marathon, which starts at Island Park in Green River, overlooking the river flowing by. In between the start and finish lines, runners will gain roughly 900 feet of elevation over the course of the half marathon, as they ascend from a starting elevation of about 6,100 feet above sea level to about 7,000 feet at the race finish.
