A two-day running festival that features a 10K and 5K on Saturday followed by the half marathon on Sunday — and a series of running challenges in which you may combine any of the three race distances into double and even triple-event challenges — the St. Pete Run Fest unfolds along a long, looping route through some of the city’s best-known neighborhoods and along its famed Tampa Bay waterfront.
Runners in the half marathon will start their race on Sunday morning at 7:00 AM, in front of the Salvador Dali Museum along Bayshore Drive. From there, the course heads out onto Dali Boulevard, and then south along 3rd Street and back north again along 4th Street, passing by Bartlett Park along the way.
The next stretch is a long out-and-back along 1st Avenue South and Central Avenue, a stretch that takes you past Tropicana Field — the home of baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays — and through downtown St. Petersburg.
As you run, you’ll make your way through a number of the neighborhoods the city is known for, including the Grand Central district, EDGE district, the Deuces, and the Warehouse Arts district; once you reach the second half of your 13.1 miles, you begin a long stretch along the blue waters of the Tampa Bay waterfront, passing by Pioneer Park, South and North Straub Park, North Shore Park and Flora Wylie Park.
All of these parks will be on your right as you run north along Bayshore Drive and North Shore Drive, and these stretches are all almost entirely flat thanks to your location just a few dozen feet above sea level.
Later stretches of the race take you through the Snell Isle and St. Petersburg’s historic Old Northeast areas, before bringing you back along Bayshore Drive for the finish in front of Mahaffey Theater Plaza.
