Sat November 18 – Sun November 19, 2024 • Tampa, FL
This half marathon not only benefits a great cause, but also promises an unforgettable experience. The Veterans Run Half Marathon offers a multitude of benefits, from a challenging yet scenic course to plenty of aid stations to keep you hydrated and fueled throughout the race. It’s one of many races offered on Veterans’ Day weekend as part of this event, with other options including a 10k, 5k, and 16 mile run.
The course starts and finishes at the beautiful Ben T. Davis Park in Tampa, offering stunning views of Tampa Bay and the perfect backdrop for a memorable race. The running path follows the paved Courtney Campbell Causeway Trail on the southern side of the bridge, offering a relatively high peak that each distance (except for the 5K) will cover along the route. This allows for a breathtaking bird’s-eye-view of the bay, making it one of the most beautiful places to run or walk in Tampa.
The half marathon distance takes you out and back along the south side of the bridge. As you cross the peak, be sure to soak up the stunning vistas and stay energized with aid stations stocked with water, electrolyte drink, and food-type fuel options.
Proceeds from this race go towards supporting OTS 4 VETS, a foundation that helps transitioning service members adapt to civilian life. Not only will you be pushing yourself to reach your personal best, but you’ll also be making a positive impact in the lives of our veterans and their families.
And let’s not forget the challenge medal for those running both days of the event! While you can run each race as a single event, you can also stack them for an extra challenge (the 5k and 10k are held on Saturday, with the half marathon and 16 miler on Sunday). Choose your races – and choose your challenge. Whatever you pick, you’re in for a memorable weekend.
