Skidaway Island Marathon & Half Marathon

Saturday, February 24, 2024 • Savannah, GA • Course Map

Home to waterfront properties, golf courses, and the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography, Skidaway Island is one of the most affluent communities in the country. Located south of Savannah, the oldest city in Georgia, the greater Savannah area is known for its beauty, which is put on display for the Skidaway Island Marathon & Half Marathon every March.

The marathon and half marathon begin at the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography, continuing south for almost three miles before heading northeast toward the Landings Harbor Marina. From there the course continues south and into the beauty of the off-road parts of Skidaway Island.

After turning around at Tidewater Way and heading north on Landings Way, runners make their way through the Marshwood Golf Course before retracing the steps of the first three miles and crossing the finish line.

The course is fast and flat, a benefit of running near the coastline, making this event a great course for setting a personal record. And you can run while feeling good, too — Skidaway Island’s Half Marathon benefits a variety of local charities, including The Landings Association and Medals4Mettle Savannah.
