The last night of a two week stay on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii home of the Makoa Half Marathon.

Looking for a challenge that takes you up close and personal with the stunning shoreline of Ewa Beach, Hawai’i? Look no further than the Makoa Half Marathon, hosted by Aloha Racing as part of their annual Wai Kai series. 

The course itself is 100% asphalt and takes runners along the breathtaking leeward coast of O’ahu’s Ewa Beach. Starting off at the Wai Kai waterfront recreation facility, runners make their way along Keone’ula Blvd before turning right onto Papipi Road for a straightaway run along the coast. As you make your way along the course, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the coastline and the sparkling blue waters of the Pacific. With accurately measured courses and tons of aid stations, you can run the distance you’ve trained for while staying hydrated and energized every step of the way.

If you’re looking for a little extra motivation, there are plenty of other perks to running the Makoa Half Marathon. Finisher medals feature custom, event-specific designs and distance-specific ribbons, so you’ll have a special keepsake to commemorate your achievement. Plus, all runners receive personalized, event-specific souvenir bibs that you can keep as a memento of your race day.

Runners can also take advantage of other great amenities, including cooling towels to help beat the Hawai’i heat, free race pics, and convenient gear check so you don’t have to worry about hauling a bag around while you run. Starting Time

The Makoa 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon volunteer check-in starts at 4:30 AM, HST and ends with a volunteer check-out at 11:15 AM, HST and can be 45 minutes earlier after our last finisher.
