Haunted trails, howling werewolves, spooky costumes. Sound like your thing? Sign up for the Howl-oween Half Marathon & 5K, which makes its annual running along the Jordan River trail this October.
Initially started in the mid-2000s by race director Jared Eborn, this long-running event is now hosted by Skol Sporting Management. Participants will enjoy a mostly flat, Halloween-themed run that carries them along the trails leading them along the Jordan River. Get into the spooky spirit by running in costume!
The half marathon course begins and ends in Draper City’s Galena Park. The course features out-and-back segments that take runners past the start and finish line twice—the best to get pumped up by the spectators and support teams milling around the park.
Along the route, aid stations including water, Gatorade, and energy gels are available approximately every 3 miles. For runners’ safety, this course is closed to vehicular traffic.
Once you’ve conquered your miles, refuel with a post-race pancake breakfast and finish line celebration in Galena Park.
Get a jump on registration and earn extra goodies! A souvenir pint glass is available for the first 50 registrants to either race.
