Ready to run while getting into the holiday spirit in a fun way? The Caribbean Christmas Half Marathon & 5K provides a fun way to squeeze in one more half marathon for the year while celebrating the holidays.
Beginning and ending near Carmel City Gazebo, the half marathon course begins by heading north and then west along City Center Drive before heading north through the streets of Carmel. The loop course continues north for about three miles before heading south and then north again toward the finish line back at Carmel City Gazebo. Be sure to stay after the race for the post-race party, featuring live reggae music, microbrew beer, local coffee, and more.
Race organizers point out that costumes are encouraged (but grinches are not), so go ahead and rock the ugly sweater or Santa suit. Runners must maintain a pace of 16.2 minutes per mile, as the course closes at 1:00pm.
Race Weather & Climate
Located just outside of Indianapolis, Carmel frequently experiences cold weather in December, especially in the morning. Snow is also a possibility, with 5.7 inches of snow on average for the month.
On race day (Dec. 16), the average low is 24ºF and the average high is 40ºF.
