Embark on a picturesque journey at the 5th Annual Pony Express Half Marathon & 5K in historic downtown Marysville.
The event coincides with the Pony Express 120 Gravel Dash, a 120-mile bike race starting and ending in downtown Marysville.
The race unfolds through the streets of Marysville and the scenic Blue River Rail Trail, set along the retired railroad bed alongside the Big Blue River. Runners will traverse paved and brick streets, cross bridges, and enjoy views of limestone outcrops, grassy bluffs, and open farm fields.
With water and aid stations strategically placed along the route, this race is perfect for those gearing up for a fall marathon.
The half marathon kicks off at 8:00 a.m. at 7th & Broadway, followed by the 5K Run at 8:15 a.m. Participants in both races receive a race t-shirt, and half marathon runners earn a finisher medal.
Downtown Marysville hosts various activities throughout the day.
The Pony Express 120 Gravel Dash cyclists departing at 7:30 a.m. and returning throughout the day. Indulge in abundant food and drink options, adding to the festive atmosphere.
New this year is the virtual race option, allowing participants to run between September 1st and September 17th. Virtual runners can email their time and distance to receive the race t-shirt and half-marathon finisher medal by mail.
