South Shore Half Marathon

The weather may be cooling down in Norwell, Massachusetts, but that doesn’t mean race season is over yet. Norwell’s South Shore Half Marathon takes runners on a point-to-point tour of Hanover and Norwell area while showing off the beauty of the area.

Beginning at Norwell High School, the half marathon leads runners south along South Street for the first mile before turning left onto Pleasant Street. The half marathon continues along Pleasant Street and Forest Street for two miles before heading south down Circuit Street.

From there, runners continue south until reaching the halfway loop on Brigantine Circle and heading back north and east toward the finish line in Norwell Center.

The half marathon course isn’t flat, and runners should plan on tackling a few hills along the course while completing the course within 3 hours, 30 minutes.

Race Weather & Climate

Located in the northeastern United States near Boston, Norwell experiences cool weather with some cold mornings in November. Snow is not out of the question, with 1.7 inches of snow on average in November.

On race day (Nov. 3), the average low is 37ºF and the average high is 56ºF.
