Part of a growing series of half marathon events across the southeastern U.S. and in other parts of the country, the Race 13.1 St. Louis Half Marathon & 5K takes the Race 13.1 series to the midwest, set for its second annual running in 2017.
The half marathon begins and ends in Missouri Research Park in St. Charles, MO, taking runners through 13 miles of scenic greenery and conservation areas. The first several miles of the course take runners along the Missouri River west of St. Louis onto the Busch Greenway.
From there runners will run through the Weldon Spring Conservation area, running through the Katy Trail, Hamburg Trail, and Busch Greenway again throughout the half marathon. Runners can expect moderate changes in elevation throughout the course, with long downhill and uphill stretches throughout the course.
Don’t forget to explore St. Louis if you have time before or after the race. With Six Flags, the Gateway Arch, and live music, St. Louis offers plenty of entertainment to keep you busy while you’re not running.
Race Weather & Climate
Located along the Mississippi River in eastern Missouri, St. Louis usually sees warm weather in June, with average temperatures ranging between 66ºF and 85ºF, and average precipitation of just under 4 inches.
On race day (June 10), the average low is 65ºF and the average high is 84ºF.
