Nebraska Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K

Sunday, September 29, 2019 • Omaha, NE • Course Map

Founded as a half marathon and 5K course in 2015 by father-son team Joe and Ryan Sutter, the Nebraska Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K debuted with the goals of providing runners with a unique, breathtaking experience and to give back to the community. Almost 600 runners participated in the 2016 event and raised over $10,000 for the Pediatric Cancer Action Network in the first year alone.

The half marathon course begins in Omaha’s Midtown Crossing, where runners start out by heading east along Farnam Street for nearly two miles before making a small loop past the Old Market Spaghetti Works and Upstream Brewing Factory. The course then continues north on 10th Street and west on Capitol Avenue toward Creighton University. The course continues through the eastern section of the campus, passing Morrison Stadium, home of the Creighton Bluejays soccer team.

Heading east away from the Creighton campus, the half marathon course continues east, passing TD Ameritrade Park Omaha — home of the College World Series — before making a sharp turn and heading south along Riverfront Drive. The next section of the course takes runners through Lewis and Clark Landing and Heartland of America Park, both along the Missouri River. Turning around just south of Riverfront Park, the course retraces its route north through the parks and Riverfront Drive before turning right and crossing the Missouri River.

This section of the course takes place across the border in Iowa, continuing south along the Missouri River through Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park and Council Bluffs Riverfront before turning around and crossing the finish line at Lewis and Clark Landing in Nebraska.

Race Weather & Climate
