Jingle Bell Half Marathon

Sunday, December 8, 2019 • Haverhill, MA • Course Map

Get ready to run for the holidays and at the Jingle Bell Half Marathon. Whether you’re running to finish your fall running season or start your winter races, the Jingle Bell Half Marathon is a fun race to get you in the running and holiday spirit.

A New Hampshire race until 2018, the Jingle Bell Half crossed the border into Massachusetts for the full race in 2019, with a start and finish line at Northern Essex Community College outside of downtown Haverhill. The first several miles of the course lead runners in a loop around the college and the surrounding area before 5K runners cross the finish line. Half marathoners, however, head east in another loop.

From there, half marathoners head south in a counterclockwise loop of the rural roads northeast of Haverhill, continuing downhill at first, then uphill with more rolling hills during the second half of the course. The entire course takes place along paved rural roads, leading runners past farms and conservation areas before heading back to the finish line.

According to the race website, the course passes “conservation land, two small ponds, rolling fields of hay, stone walls, and apple orchards” and is a great race for runners of all levels. Be sure to stay for the afterparty at the community college, which features entertainment, hot soup and cocoa, and of course beer (for runners of drinking age).
