Bridgehampton Half Marathon

Saturday, May 9, 2020 • Bridgehampton, NYCourse Map

The beautiful rural countryside of eastern Long Island plays host to the 7th annual running of the Bridgehampton Half Marathon, created by the race management groups that stage the annual Hamptons Marathon & Half Marathon and the Fall Foliage Half Marathon in Rhinebeck, N.Y., for an event that will benefit the Bridgehampton Museum.

Runners are set to start the out-and-back loop course for the race at the intersection of Ocean Road and Montauk Highway, near the historic Beebe Windmill. From there, the course follows a fast, flat route through the countryside just outside this town of just over 1,700 residents, past potato fields and horse farms, and right up to the shoreline of Sagg Main Beach and Sagaponack Pond.

The clockwise loop course takes runners past the campus of the Wainscott School, the Sagg Cemetery and the Mecox Cemetery — as well as a brief stretch past the Sagg Swamp Nature Preserve — and then back into town for the race finish back near the historic windmill.

All along the course, runners will find port-a-johns at every mile along with hydration stations stocked with Gatorade and other refreshments.

Age group awards will be presented to the top 3 finishers in each age division, and both finisher’s medals and schwag bags will be given out to each runner, along with the official technical race t-shirt.

Just over 890 runners crossed the finish line at the race’s inaugural running in 2014.
