The Southeast’s Premier Racing Series is heading north to the Buckeye state! The second annual Race 13.1 Cincinnati half marathon, 10k and 5k will be held June 3, 2017 and will start and finish on the beautiful Miami Whitewater Lake.
The flat, looped course will follow picturesque and wide greenway trails throughout the Miami Whitewater Forest Park, which features beautiful, changing scenery along the route.
The park is the largest in Hamilton County, encompassing 4,345 acres and featuring plenty of fun outdoor activities such as biking trails, paddle-boarding, golf and dog parks.
The third-largest city in Ohio, Cincinnati sits along the Ohio River and is home to the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals and the MLB’s Cincinnati Reds. Besides the possibility of taking in a Reds game, the city has plenty of attractions for visitors to take advantage of over race weekend, including the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, considered one of the prettiest zoos in the country, as well as Kings Island, the largest amusement and water park in the Midwest located less than 30 minutes away.
Race 13.1 is the fastest growing half marathon race series in the country providing runners “big race perks with a local race feel.” All half marathon finishers will be presented a custom finisher medal that is in the spirit of and unique to Cincinnati. The high-quality tech tee shirts that each participant will receive will feature a similar design and will be displayed soon on the Race 13.1 website.
Like all Race 13.1 events, runners can expect plenty of well-stocked, well-staffed aid stations and lots of enthusiastic course monitors along the way. Runners can expect to have a text message from Race 13.1 with a link to the live results waiting for them when they cross the finish line, along with a first class post-race party.
Over 1,500 runners are expected in the half marathon that will start at 7:00 AM while the 10k and 5k will begin at 7:15 AM.
