Albany Half Marathon

Sunday, September 18, 2016 • Albany, OR • Course Map

Ready to run for good? The Albany Half Marathon prides itself on being a not-for-profit event designed to raise money for small city Albany’s schools, now in its 4th year in 2016.

The Albany Half Marathon is a loop course beginning at Timber Linn Park, east of downtown Albany. From there, the half marathon continues east along Knox Butte Road, making a loop around the rural area east of Albany, before returning to the finish line near Timber Linn Park.

While much of the course is flat with occasional rolling hills, two major hills make up the sections at the end of miles 8 and 10. Race organizers describe the course as a beginner-friendly course that can also serve as a prep course before the Portland Marathon in October.

Race organizers note that walkers and participants with strollers or dogs are welcome on the half marathon course. For those not ready (or too young) to take on 13.1 miles, a 5K and kids’ fun run are also available.
