Overview

Join the nationwide movement on Saturday, August 9, 2025, for the 30 for Freedom Half Marathon, a powerful event raised in tandem with 5K, 10K, and 30‑mile ultramarathon options. Organized in multiple cities—like Cold Spring, MN, Kasson, Rochester, and Twin Cities—this race supports the mission to end sex trafficking, aiming to raise $1 million in 2025 for prevention, rescue, and survivor care programs.

Since its founding in 2016 by Brent Silkey—who launched the campaign by running 30 miles with 30 friends on his 30th birthday—the series has grown to include over 15,000 participants, raising more than \$2.5 million to date. The half marathon typically kicks off around 7:00 AM local time, following a flat, paved out‑and‑back route—often on city trails or church campus property—with aid stations approximately every 3 miles.

Participants praise the inclusive, mission-driven energy:

“They’re running for the kids who are trafficked. They don’t have a choice. We are choosing to do the hard things.” — WDIO news on Grandma’s Marathon team.

Runners receive a limited-edition 30 for Freedom tech T-shirt, medal, and access to virtual or in-person chapters organized across regions. This event is more than a race—it’s a platform for change.

Why You’ll Love It
