Starting and ending at Coal Creek Golf Course on 585 Dillon Road, this looping out-and-back course takes runners along Coal Creek Trail for the initial portion of the race. Turning at Dutch Creek Park, runners proceed to cross Cherry Street as they hop back onto the unmarked backroads of the course. Onto Washington Avenue, runners then exit to loop around Harpers Lake before hopping onto the Davidson Mesa Trailhead. Ultimately, runners will find themselves looping Harpers Lake for a second time in the opposite direction as they continue to retrace their steps back toward the finish line. There are a total of seven (7) aid stations equipped with water and electrolytes, with one aid station also equipped with GU Gels as well. Open for a total of 3 hours 30 minutes, the time cut-off is somewhat competitive. All participants and racers of the Arctic Prairie Dog Half Marathon will receive an official bib, free downloadable race-day photos, gender-specific t-shirts, and for those who cross the finish line – a colourful and memorable finisher’s medal.
