The Chandler #AZ48 Half Marathon and 5k event is more than just a community run but rather an event that aims to support and contribute to Mission22, a cause that raises awareness and funds for healing American Veterans, offering treatment for PTSD, suicide, substance abuse, and brain injuries. Flat and Fast. This race is a fully paved course that begins and ends at Chandler Stage Park along 178 E Commonwealth Avenue, and takes runners through the streets of Downtown Chandler. This vibrant district embodies several personalities, all of which are modern, artsy, and unapologetically colorful. As such, runners can expect an energetic course offering diverse scenery comprising the downtown restaurant and bar scene, nature parks, and art galleries throughout.

Starting in Chandler Stage Park, runners set their sites on South Arizona place where they first exit the park, quickly hanging a right onto East Buffalo Street before finding their rhythm along East Chandler Boulevard. After mile one, it’s onto South McQueen Road before turning left onto East Frye Road where they’ll have their first opportunity for hydration. At this stage it’s time to settle into Maricopa Trail and Chandler Pasin Trail for a 3+ mile stretch before hanging left onto East Ocotillo Road. At Mile 7, it’s time for runners to retrace their steps along South McQueen Road in pursuit of Maricopa Trail until they retrace their steps all the way back to Chandler Stage Park. This race enjoys a start time of 6:30 am sharp, with a closure of the half marathon at 10:15 am, giving runners a total of 3 hours 45 minutes to complete it. Water stations can be expected every 1.5-2 miles comprising water, electrolytes, and of course, portable restrooms. Upon completion, finishers will be awarded with an emphatic six inch finisher’s medal that embodies the beauty of Arizona in its design. Finally, as for event swag, all registrants will have their choice between a short-sleeve, racerback tank top (for the women), a muscle tank (for the men), and an epic custom race visor.
