More than 2,000 runners cross the finish line each year in all races combined at the Charlotte RaceFest, whose half marathon course takes runners on an out-and-back loop route through the neighborhoods south of downtown near Myers Park here in the “Queen City.”
The race takes runners on a course filled with rolling hills that starts and finishes in Charlotte’s SouthPark shopping and entertainment district, on Barclay Downs Drive. From there, participants follow Barclay Downs northward until they meet up with Runnymeade Lane, where they turn left and head along the southern edge of Myers Park Country Club on their way toward the intersection with Highway 16, also known as Providence Road.
