The Dirty December Poker Run is a poker-themed marathon event held in San Diego that offers four races: the Hill Climb, 10k, Half Marathon, and Marathon.
Participants get up to five poker cards during their events which are used at the end of the race to help (or harm) their run time. In the half marathon, the runner receives a poker card every runner passes the Martha’s Grove aid station and at the finish.

Holiday-themed costumes are optional. People wearing costumes will receive an extra card, giving them six cards to choose from. At the end of the event, participants will deal a poker hand with their given cards, and depending on how strong that hand is, their run times might be increased or decreased.
