The Fountainhead Half Marathon and 10K promise participants both a challenging and breathtaking experience amid the scenic surroundings of Fountainhead Regional Park in Fairfax County, VA. Despite its proximity to Washington D.C., the park exudes a remote ambiance, offering a serene escape from urban life. The half marathon course encompasses a demanding yet stunning 6-mile stretch of the Bull-Run Occoquan Trail (BROT) from Fountainhead to Bull Run Marina, complemented by three lesser-known side trails along the BROT. Meanwhile, the 10K course presents its own challenges, incorporating a shorter section of the BROT along with one of the side trails – including a notably epic climb.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 19, 2024, when participants will tackle either the 13.1-mile half marathon or the 6.8-mile 10K course. As part of the event’s commitment to community engagement, participants will have the opportunity to support a local non-profit organization, Homestretch, during registration. This charitable partnership aims to raise awareness of Homestretch’s vital services for families in the area and generate funds to directly support their efforts. Consider making a donation during registration to contribute to this meaningful cause while embarking on your race journey.
