Set to take runners on a route that unfolds through the southwestern corner of Kansas City, this 13.1-mile race for women is designed to celebrate living a healthy lifestyle and to support local charities by providing an encouraging atmosphere for fitness and exercise for women of all ages.

And with a 4-hour course time limit and a mixture of road and trail, this race is perfect for beginners, trail runners, and competitors.

Runners will tackle a loop course that features plenty of rolling hills to keep things challenging. The start/finish line is located in the Prairiefire Entertainment District–the perfect spot to host a ladies’ only half marathon.

The first two miles are along W 135th Street that takes runners west. Just past the 2nd mile marker, runners hop along the trail that runs adjacent to Tomahawk Creek. They continue along the trail until they reach the Tomahawk Valley Park, just beyond the 5th mile marker.

After reaching Quivira Road, runners make a left turn and continue south until it intersects with W 143rd Street. Racers will continue on this long stretch of road until they reach mile marker 9 and make a left turn onto the trail just before returning to W 135th Street.

They reach the Prairiefire area again, but must make a loop around the Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate before making their way to the finish line.

Finishers can collect their medal, wine glass, and post-race smoothie upon completing their race. Age group awards go four deep in each category and overall awards are handed out as well. Men are allowed to race, but encouraged to only run in the 5K event as the half marathon distance is intended just for women.
