The Grand Targhee Wildflower Run returns for its two-day celebration at Grand Targhee Resort in Alta (elevation 7,860 ft). Individually capped at 300 total participants, the event offers four distances: a 50K ultra, Half Marathon, 10K, and a 1K Kids’ Race, nestled amid high-elevation trails and alpine wildflower meadows.

🏃 Race Experience & Highlights

The 50K kicks off at 7:00 AM MDT on July 5, challenging runners across 4,400 ft of ascent along sweeping ridgelines and technical single-track before topping out near Dreamcatcher summit at 11:00 AM cutoff. On July 6, the Half Marathon begins at 8:00 AM, followed by the 10K at 9:00 AM, both routes climbing Peaked Mountain through blooming wildflower fields and aspen groves with panoramic views of the Tetons. A 1K Kids’ Race at 11:00 AM offers a fun loop for ages 6–12 around the base area.

Course Description

The Sunday (July 6th) 10K and 1/2 Marathon courses will lead up Peaked Mountain with jaw dropping views of the Tetons and across amazing fields of wildflowers while cruising between the aspen glades that dot the mountainside. The 1K Kids’ Race will loop the base area providing for a super fun course for 6-12 year old’s looking to try out a safe yet challenging intro to trail running.
