Prepare for the 5th edition of The Hurricane Creek Half, organized by RUNNERS OF THE SAGE under a special use permit from the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest Employer. Set to take place on Saturday, May 25th, 2024, the event offers a variety of races starting at 8 AM, including the Half Marathon, 5 Mile, and 5K, with a special 1 Mile Kids Race at 9 AM. Early Bird registration prices are available until March 30th, ensuring participants secure a spot at the best rates, including shirts with Half Marathon registration.
The picturesque Joseph City Park in Joseph, Oregon, serves as the race venue, where runners can pick up their race packets, complete with bibs and goodies, on Friday, May 24th, from 3-5 PM and on the race day from 6:30 AM until 7:45 AM. The mission of Runners of the Sage is to promote active and healthy lifestyles, aiming to encourage the Wallowa County community to embrace running.
Awards will be presented to the top 3 Male and top 3 Female Overall finishers in each category, with each Half Marathon finisher receiving a well-deserved finisher medal. The courses are thoughtfully designed, offering breathtaking views of the Wallowa Mountains, Eagle Cap Wilderness, Seven Devils, and high valleys. From the hilly and challenging Half Marathon to the scenic 5 Mile and 5K routes, participants will experience the beauty of the Northwest. Water stations are strategically placed along the courses to ensure runners stay hydrated and energized throughout the race.
