The title of the race says it all at Lake Tahoe’s Lakeside Marathon and Nevada Half Marathon, which features a course that takes runners along the winding roads that surround the lake through parts of both California and Nevada, along a challenging course with plenty of gorgeous natural beauty.
This year, the half marathon takes place on Friday, October 13 and is the fastest of the three races ran during the weekend event known as the “Tahoe Trifecta.” Starting off, runners will begin at a parking lot located at the H50 & H28 intersection.
Here runners will be surrounded by open road and plenty of trees. With a cool wind blowing, this will be a crisp yet great environment to start off a unique race.
Once the race begins, runners will head north down the Spooner Summit to Incline Village. Throughout the entirety of the race from Nevada to California, runners will have immaculate lake views of the breath-taking Lake Tahoe. Surrounded by green mountains and snow-covered peaks, the blue lake is bound to make for a serene, peaceful, and awe-inspiring marathon.
Runners will have six aid stations along the way provided water and nutrition. Since the race is mostly downhill, it is often leads runners to record faster finishing times.
