Overview

Part of the Happy Trails Running Corner Canyon Trail Series, the Maple Hollow Half Marathon offers runners a September choice through rugged and scenic trails. The 2025 Group Run is scheduled for Saturday, September 13 at 7:00 AM MDT from the Maple Hollow Trailhead, though any registered runner can complete the GPS-mapped course anytime between May 1 and October 31.

Now in its second series year, Maple Hollow is known for being the most technically demanding of the three Corner Canyon half‑marathons, with approximately 2,110 ft of elevation gain over 13.2 miles. The trail winds westward through tunnels, ridges, and creek crossings—crossing county lines from Utah County into Salt Lake County and back, offering commanding views over both valleys.

Happy Trails Running’s GPS format allows flexibility—complete the course when convenient and submit your ridewithGPS activity for timing. Still, many choose the group-run day for community and pacing support. All participants receive a locally made finisher medal and synthetic performance shirt; overall and series leaderboard awards follow in November at a hosted lunch.

Course Description

You will follow long winding trails that offer amazing views of Salt Lake County and Utah County. This course is arguably the hardest but also the most diverse in scenery and views.

You begin by heading to the Utah County side of Corner Canyon and then cross over to the Salt Lake County side. You will go through multiple tunnels and find yourself on several ridges as you work your way through this amazing trail system!

Race starts and finishes at the Maple Hollow Trailhead. Take the trail heading South and downhill into the tunnel. Turn right after the tunnel. As long as you are within 100 feet of this area you will have no issues with recording your race attempt! Don’t forget to start and finish your course attempt!
