Saturday, April 4, 2020 • Allenwood, PA • Course Map

runsignup blueRunners looking for a challenging trail course will meet their match in the annual Mile Run Trail Race, which, despite the name, is a half marathon and not one mile.

The course begins and ends in the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) parking lot, which also provides ample parking for runners taking part in the race. Once the race begins, runners head into the trails and encounter a steady incline with rocky areas and stream crossings for the first three miles. The first aid station greets runners at the end of this steady incline, and runners are encouraged to take advantage of it before continuing.

A downhill stretch immediately follows the first quarter of the course, a mile designed for a recovery run before crossing another stream and climbing your way back uphill to the halfway point. The third quarter of the course means more uphill segments and another stream crossing, plus an aid station at mile 11 to prepare runners for the finish.

Enjoy a downhill stretch through most of the half marathon’s last two miles, with a small uphill stretch just before the finish line. With over 3,000 feet of elevation change, this course is a challenge for beginners and pros alike.
