Overview

Raising money for the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Parkinson’s Disease Associate, the Parkinson’s Half Marathon and 5K are fast and flat trail races that unfold along the Glacial Drumlin State Trail, a gravel trail will take runners out and back with elevation changes maxing out at less than 40 feet.

The Glacial Drumlin State Trail is a 52-mile long rail trail that stretches from Waukesha to Cottage Grove, Wisconsin. A geological feature commonly found in Wisconsin, drumlins are elongated hills in the shape of inverted spoons caused by glacial movements. However, this course contains minimal hills and gently rolls between an elevation of 860 feet and 890 feet.

Course Description

Runners will enjoy four aid stations along the course at miles 2.5, 5.15, 8.3, and 11. Medals also will be given to all half-marathon finishers and there will be age group awards.
The race begins by crossing Country Highway and enjoying a first mile that is nearly all downhill. At 0.8 miles, runners cross Heather Drive and continue east. Just past mile marker 2, runners cross Uphoff Road and enjoy a steady, flat ride until mile marker 3.5.
The path climbs a bit for approximately a mile before it heads downhill once again. Shortly after mile 5, racers cross Oak Park Road. The turnaround point for the race occurs just before North Main Street. Racers will loop back over the same path and make their way towards the finish line.
