Overview

Saturday, November 1, 2025 welcomes fall runners to the Powhatan Pursuit, a scenic trail event inside Powhatan State Park, just west of Richmond, VA. This boutique race features a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and a virtual option—all designed for trail enthusiasts and series competitors.

🏔️ Trail Experience & Atmosphere

The Half Marathon begins at 7:30 AM EDT, with a 3 h 15 min time limit and early-start flexibility for slower paces. The 10K follows at 7:45 AM and the 5K at 8:00 AM. All distances wind through wooded trails and paved sections, featuring rolling hills, scenic forest views, and mixed terrain. The 10K is two loops of a shorter route and the Half runs two loops totaling 13.1 miles.

Aid stations are spaced approximately every 2 miles, and race-day registration is available—though t‑shirt sizing is only guaranteed for entries before October 22.

🎯 Unique Highlights

The event benefits Operation Turbo (supporting boxes of home care packages for veterans) and offers a well-supported, eco-conscious trail experience. Fields are capped to maintain a boutique feel. Points earned count toward Bishop’s Year‑Long 5K, 10K, Endurance, and Back‑of‑the‑Pack Series, as well as the Fall Series.

The Powhatan Pursuit offers a scenic, well‑supported trail racing experience in Powhatan State Park—mixing forested loops, rolling terrain, and charitable impact. With capped fields and series recognition, it’s tailored for both goal-oriented competitors and recreational runners seeking a boutique, fall trail race.

Course Description
