Making its annual running on the first weekend of March, the Rochester Hypothermic Half Marathon draws around 70 people each year for the half marathon race. This year’s race features an out and back loop that begins and ends at the north side of Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial, along the South Fork Zumbro River. The course will take runners through 2 parks, and around the beautiful Silver Lake.

The course begins along Soldiers Field Drive, where runners will make their way around the outskirts of the park, running parallel to Broadway, and 12th Street. After completing the loop around Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial, the course takes runners north away from the city, crossing over Broadway and following the river northwards. Remaining on trails along the river, runners will pass by Mayo Park on their left and into Three Links park. The course takes runners across Silver Creek as they make a loop around the northern section of Silver Lake. Staying on trails, runners will circle the entirety of the lake, meeting back up with the south side lake trail, and heading back along the same course to the finish line.

Runners in the half marathon will begin at 9:00 AM. Participants are encouraged to sign up early, as the race is capped at 75 runners. Those participating will receive a Hypothermic Run Set, including a running backpack and toque, a unique finishers medal, and a complimentary brunch.
