Wilmington, North Carolina – Sunday, February 22
- Flat, fast course by the beach in a place that’s served as a filming location for television shows from Dawson’s Creek to One Tree Hill to Under the Dome. With average temperatures between 40 and 60 degrees, there’s no better way to start your season!
Roanoke, Virginia – Sunday, March 1
- Cool weather with a course almost completely along the Roanoke River – it’s one of the flattest courses you’ll find in this part of Virginia and one of the most beautiful! On top of that, the race is presented by Michelob Ultra, which means beer after the race!
Evans, Georgia – Sunday, April 26
- Just a few minutes from the famed golf town of Augusta, Evans is the home of “The Godfather of Soul,” James Brown. In Evans, you’ll find another super flat and fast course with almost two miles on the paved Canal Trail adjacent to the beautiful Savannah River. This race is just what you need to “feel good!”
Tennessee Valley – Saturday, May 2
- Race 13.1 TN Valley will start and finish a short 15-minute drive from Chattanooga in Cleveland, Tennessee. Here you’ll find a flat course featuring a loop around picturesque Lee University and a whole lot of fun and enthusiastic runners and volunteers.
Richmond, Virginia – Saturday, May 9
- Vrooooom…. Runners start your engines! Starting and finishing at the Richmond International Raceway, runners will start the race with a lap around the ¾ mile-long NASCAR track! With temperatures expected to be as low as 50 degrees at the start of the race, this is a late-spring race you won’t want to miss. Farragut, Tennessee – Sunday, May 17
- This promises to be a great race, starting and finishing at Turkey Creek – one of the biggest and best shopping destinations in metro Knoxville – where you’ll find ample parking, lots of amenities, and a course that will show of some of the best trails and sights that Knoxville and Farragut, TN have to offer.
Greensboro, North Carolina – Sunday, May 17
- Back for the second year, you’ll want to be sure to register early to guarantee you get a spot after 98% of runners in 2014 said they would recommend this race to a friend… aka you! The race will start and finish at Greensboro’s best shopping destination, Friendly Center, giving runners and their families the best everything they could ask for before, during and after the race. On top of that, one lucky runner will win free massages from Hand and Stone Spa for year!
Raleigh, North Carolina (Spring) – Saturday, June 6
- Back for its fourth year, Race 13.1 Raleigh Spring starts and finishes at North Hills, Raleigh’s preeminent place to live, shop, and play – and on June 6, run! The course features the beautiful and shady Crabtree Creek Greenway and gives runners the opportunity to achieve greatness by conquering Lassiter Hill. If that’s not enough, one runner will have a chance to win a brand new Lexus worth $55,000! Sign up early to ensure your place, this one may sell out!
If the list above isn’t enough, it gets better! The Race 13.1 team is running hard (pun intended!) to add more great races throughout the Southeast and maybe one or two in Florida as well as the Northeast to provide a robust fall schedule in addition to the great spring schedule you see above.
Every runner who finishes three 13.1’s will get a special 3x medal. If you’re lucky enough to finish seven 13.1’s you’ll get a special 7x medal. And, if you’re crazy enough to finish 13 Race 13.1’s in 2015 you will receive a 13x medal! Each of these medal designs will be announced soon.
