Overview

Mark your calendars for the 8th annual Liberty Hospital Half Marathon & Jewell 5K, set for Saturday, March 29, 2025, with all races kicking off at 8:00 AM CDT from scenic William Jewell College. With over 1,500+ participants from 25 states, it’s the largest half marathon in the Northland, drawing elite and recreational runners alike.

This USATF-certified course winds through charming downtown Liberty, offering a mix of slight elevation changes that lend challenge and character—earning a reputation as “the most difficult half marathon in Kansas City,” yet one that delivers rewarding quads and big community spirit. With chip timing, craft-beer finish, volunteer-packed aid stations, and race entertainment, it blends athletic pursuit with local warmth.

Beyond fitness, this race is deeply rooted in giving: all proceeds support the Liberty Hospital Foundation, funding community health, wellness, and access programs. Over $500,000 has been raised so far—showcasing how each bib goes toward meaningful impact. The event also features a family-friendly kid’s run, a 10K debut in its Heartland 39.3 Series, and a festive expo atmosphere.

Local ambassadors, food trucks, music, and downtown buzz round out the race-day experience, making it a signature spring event that embodies fitness, fun, and philanthropy.
