The out-and-back course for the half marathon starts and finishes on AT&T Center Drive, and takes runners first along a couple of short winding loops along the U-shaped road before sending runners out onto Lakewood Boulevard, where they turn right and head toward the Paul Douglas Preserve.
After crossing Huntington Boulevard, runners then head onto the trail inside the preserve, which they follow for the next few miles as it winds its way along the western, northern and eastern edges of the grassland areas.
When they meet the intersection with Central Road, runners turn left and head east along Central until the next turn on Roselle Road, which they follow nearly all the way up to Algonquin Road, where they hit the turnaround point and then run back along the route they’ve just covered back to Central Road.
The last three miles of the race then take runners back through the southern edge of the preserve to Huntington Boulevard, where they turn right and head north and then re-join Lakewood Boulevard, which takes them back in to the finish line.
The terrain for the race features a combination of paved roads as well as paved and dirt park trails, and features rolling hills throughout, but no dramatic uphill or downhill stretches.
