All races are known for their challenging but scenic courses. The course combines single-track and multi use trails within Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park and runners traverse the three main loops of Swamp Forest, Coon Bottom, and Oak Hammock each connected by trails. Alongside sand-bottom streams and basin swamps.
For the Swamp Forest Loop runners pass ponds and Beech-Magnolia forest. On the Oak Hammock Loop runners will pass deer and Lake Jackson’s shore. The Creek Forest Trail will take runners past the Giant Cane Patches and natural swamplands.
There’s a quarter marathon which is a one-loop course, the half marathon is two loops of the same course, and then there’s a three-loop 20-mile challenge.
The race is capped at 150 runners.
Half Marathon Guide is the largest calendar and educational resource in the world for half marathon runners and enthusiasts with over 10,000,000 annual visitors.
