With a day full of events that include a 5K run and a half marathon, runners get the chance to choose among a wide variety of running events at Nashville’s Tom King Classic Memorial Half Marathon, which marks its 28th annual running this year.
The event begins at Nissan Stadium, home field of the NFL’s Tennessee Titans, and takes participants on a tour of some of the Music City’s famous sights and streets, and then winds up for the finish on the 50-yard line back at Titans Stadium, where all runners, walkers, and wheelchair participants alike get to see themselves cross the finish line on the stadium’s JumboTron.
In between the start and the finish, most of the race unfolds along the Music City Bikeway trail, which runs alongside the Cumberland River for all but the opening and closing miles of the race.
More than 1,200 runners crossed the finish line at the 2016 race, including more than 850 in the half marathon alone. The half marathon is limited to the first 1,200 entrants, so if you’re thinking of running this one — sign up early.
Race Weather & Climate
Located near the middle of the state, along the banks of the Cumberland River, the city of Nashville can see weather conditions that are still quite chilly in the late winter season, with plenty of rainfall (common all year long in Nashville) or frozen precipitation as well.
Early March temperatures average between 31°F and 52°F, while precipitation amounts average around 3.69 inches. On the day of the race, the average low is 33°F and the average high is 54°F.

When I registered for the 2016 Tom King Half, it said there was a problem, another entry under my name had already been received. I wanted to know if I am registered, and also if I am registered twice. I want to make sure I registered before the $10 discount expires for last years participants. Thanks!
