As the Texas weather cools down in mid-November to a more manageable running temperature, the race season heats up in Houston with the Cypress Half Marathon, 5K, & Kids K.
As the first race in the Bayou City Half Marathon series, the only one of its kind in Houston, the Cypress Half Marathon takes runners on a relaxing and country tour of a small town located just outside of Houston.
The half marathon, 5K, and kids race all begin at Cypress Woods High School. Half marathoners begin the loop course by running north along Skinner Road for nearly a mile. After a brief interlude on smaller, more country-like roads to the west, the course begins exploring the more rural western and northern parts of Cypress before returning to the finish line back at Cypress Woods High School. All half marathoners receive a custom event backpack and medal as commemoration of the event.
Not ready to run 13.1 miles on your own? No problem–the Cypress Half Marathon also features a half marathon relay, so you and a friend can team up to finish the race together.
Race Weather & Climate
Located about 30 miles northwest of Houston, Cypress experiences mild to warm weather in November, with temperatures ranging as low as 22° (1976) and as high as 91° (1950). Precipitation averages about 4.58 inches for the month of November.
On race day (Nov. 10), the average low is 52ºF and the average high is 73ºF.
