Saturday, November 18, 2023 • Shiner, TX • Course Map
Known as the “Cleanest Little City in Texas”, the small town of Shiner (population: 2,070) nestled between San Antonio and Houston plays host to the Shiner Beer Run every year in November.
Both the half marathon and 5K begin and end at the Spoetzl Brewery, producer of the Shiner Bock beer now distributed in 49 states.
From there, the half marathon takes runners on a hilly and scenic route of the Texas countryside, weaving through the streets of downtown Shiner before leading runners through roads that stretch on forever.
While most of the course is run on the roads of the Shiner countryside, about a mile or so of the course is run on the loose gravel of Green Dickson Park, giving runners a true taste of the Texas countryside.
The finish line post-party at the Spoetzl Brewery features live music, brewery tours, food, and of course Shiner Beer.
The race organizers emphasize that the Shiner Beer Run is an event for all abilities, and with a time limit of five hours, walkers are welcomed with open arms to participate.
