San Mateo, CA  •  Saturday, August 11, 2012  •  Course Map

Cancelled for 2012

Set for its inaugural running in the late summer of 2012 along the roads and pathways that wind along the San Francisco Bay, San Mateo's Bay Area Half Marathon joins a host of 13.1-mile races that take place around the San Francisco and San Jose area throughout the year, and features a point-to-point course that unfolds on a fast and flat route mostly along the waterfront.

Runners will start the race in Coyote Point Park on Coyote Point Drive near San Mateo, and from there head southwest through Foster City and San Carlos on the way to the finish line in nearby Redwood City, with stretches along the harbor. The scheduled starting time for the race is 7:00 AM.

Race Weather & Climate

Located along the southern shoreline of San Francisco Bay in Northern California, about 20 miles south of San Francisco and roughly 30 miles northwest of San Jose, San Mateo typically sees August temperatures that average between 81°F and 56°F, while rainfall totals average near zero for the month. On the day of the race (Aug. 11), the average high is 82°F and the average low is 56°F.
