New York > Tupper Lake Marathon & Half Marathon
Tupper Lake, NY  •  Sunday, May 18, 2014  •  Course Map

Set for its 4th annual running in the late spring of 2014 here in this small northern New York state village that's known as the "crossroads of the Adirondacks," the Tupper Lake Marathon & Half Marathon takes runners on an out-and-back route that starts and finishes at the village's municipal park along the shoreline of Raquette Pond, near its downtown area.

From there, runners in the half marathon will follow the same route used at the annual June Tupper Lake Tinman Triathlon, which features a first half that takes runners out for a roughly five-mile stretch along the Tupper-Saranac Highway, which heads in the direction of the Saranac Lakes Forest just to the east of town. After a two-mile loop stretch off the highway and onto Dugal Road and Wawbeek Road, runners then head back onto the Tupper-Saranac Highway and back toward the park where they started.

The second half of the race takes runners northward along McLaughlin Avenue toward Little Wolf Pond, giving runners a view of the pine and hardwood forests that rise in the mountains surrounding the village as they make their way up to the second loop strech of the race.

Runners make their way all the way up to the southern edge of Little Wolf Pond, running around to its western edge and Haynemeadow Road before turning left and heading south along Haynemeadow back to Main Street, where they begin the final three miles of the race that bring them back to the park for the finish.

Scheduled starting time for the race is 8:00 AM, and both runners and walkers are welcome in both the half and the full marathon.
