Texas > Remember the Alamo Half Marathon & 10K
San Antonio, TX • Saturday, October 18, 2014 • Course Map
Part of a four-race series called the Alamo City Marathon Challenge, designed to help local runners prepare for November's Rock & Roll San Antonio Marathon & Half Marathon, the Remember the Alamo! 10K & Half Marathon is the third race in the series, which features music, food and locally brewed Alamo Beer waiting for runners after they finish their 13.1 miles.
(It's worth pointing out that the half marathon in this event is slightly longer than your standard half -- it's 13.2 miles, rather than 13.1 miles.)
The series takes runners to four of San Antonio's best-loved city parks, including LBJ Park, Leon Creek Park and Soler Sports, where October's Remember the Alamo race will be run. While online registrations are of course accepted in the weeks leading up to the race, on-site registration will be available on the day of the race. As the race organizers put it, "we will be ready for you even if you sign up at the last minute."
The course for the race features plenty of flat, fast and smooth paved paths for running, as well as lots of mature trees that provide ample shade in the Texas sun. Age group awards will be presented, as well as awards to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place runners overall for the race.
