Part of a series of half marathon race events scheduled throughout the United States in smaller to medium-sized towns and cities -- a series that also includes races in Columbia, S.C.; Council Bluff, Ia.; and Dade City, Fla., to name a few -- the Yakima Half Marathon, 5K & Fun Run is one of nearly 30 races organized by the USRA Half Marathon Series.
The race is expected to take runners on a course that winds through the city streets of the Yakima Valley, a wine growing region in southern Washington state that's known for its plentiful vineyards as well as its nearby mountains and rivers for outdoor recreation.
