Wisconsin > Tater Trot Half Marathon & 5K
Rice Lake, WI
Saturday, October 18, 2008
Hosted by the local Boys and Girls Club of Barron County and sponsored
by the Luther Midelfort Northland Mayo Health System, the Tater Trot
Half Marathon & 5K celebrates its third annual running in the
fall of 2008, taking runners on a challenging out-and-back loop course
that starts and finishes at Rice Lake's Moon lake Soccer Fields at the
intersection of South Street and Kern Avenue. The half-marathon race
takes runners through the rolling, scenic countryside just south of
town, while the 5K race follows a faster and flatter course with views
of the lake from which the town gets its name. Both races start at
10:00 AM, and are followed by post-race festivities with lots of
activities for kids.

conditions in the mid-fall season, with much drier weather on average
than the late summer months. In October, average monthly temperatures
range between 56°F and 36°F, while rainfall totals
average around 2.5 inches for the month.
