The first road race of the year hosted by the Greater Bellingham Running Club, this event’s running will mark the 44th anniversary of the Annual Lake Samish Runs Half Marathon & 6.5-Mile Run, a loop course road race that takes runners around the entire circumference of Washington State’s Lake Samish, near Bellingham.
Run on paved country roads that see little traffic (and remain open to automobiles during the event), the race is mostly flat with a few rolling hills thrown in.
The race is limited to 300 entrants, so runners thinking of signing up are encouraged to do so early — in recent years, all spots have filled up before race day, so don’t wait until the day of the race.
With markers at each mile throughout the course, the 6.5-mile race takes runners once around the lake, while the half-marathon is a double loop around the lake.
Thanks in part to the wintry weather this time of year, the event starts at 10:00 AM for the half marathon, followed by a 10:15 AM start for the 6.5-mile run.
Race Weather & Climate
Nestled along the shores of Bellingham Bay in Washington state’s northwestern corner, roughly 90 miles north of downtown Seattle, Bellingham typically sees some of its coldest and wettest weather of the year in January, a month when temperatures here have been recorded as low as 9 degrees and as high as 65 degrees.

I registered for this awhile back, but now the website does not come up. Is the race still scheduled? How can I verify my registration, please?
Thank you,

Hi Mike, it appears that the club updated their links and so the one I had above was out-of-date. I’ve now corrected the link so you should be able to get to their site now.
