Olympia Lakefair Run Half Marathon, 8K & 3K

Saturday, July 20, 2024 • Olympia, WA • Course Map

Set for its 47th annual running this year, the Olympia Lakefair Run is part of weekend-long running festival that features a half marathon as well as a the 8K and 3K distances, which take runners on a route that will circle around the town of Olympia, passing by the numerous lakes and ponds scattered around the city.

For runners in the half marathon, the race unfolds along a combination of city streets and along running, biking and walking trails within Olympia, including both the Chehalis Western Trail and the Woodland Trail, which runners will head onto shortly after passing the first mile marker early on in the race.

The event starts at Heritage Park in Olympia near the corner of 5th Avenue and Washington Streets, and from there heads briefly through downtown.

After the first mile, runners then head onto a large portion of the race that includes tree-lined trails. Runners can enjoy the landscapes along the Chehalis Western Trail and will quickly head eastbound on the Woodland Trail where runners will enjoy flat and narrow trails that are paved throughout.

Just before runners reach the 4th mile marker, they turn onto the Woodland Trail, which brings them north into the Springwood and South Bay neighborhoods, remaining flat throughout.

Around the mile 9 marker, the course hits what is perhaps its most scenic stretch. Runners will head down through Priest Point Park and enjoy shade through the park trails. Then the route will go down on Easy Bay Drive and right along the coast of Puget Sound for a breathtaking final stretch of the run.

This area of the race provides a flat and paved trail that ends back in the downtown Olympia area in Heritage Park.

Once runners have completed the course, they can enjoy festival activities that are held all around the large city park. Festival events include food and beer tents, carnival rides booths and more. The Heritage Park area where the race ends is one of the most popular sites for visitors to the city as it features the Heritage Park Fountain, a popular spot for children and adults to run, play and wade.

I signed up for the Lakefair Half Marathon on June 11th thru Enmotive. My credit card went through, but I did not receive a email confirmation. Is there a way I can check to make sure I’m registered?
    Thanks,
