Cellcom Green Bay Marathon, Half Marathon & Relay

Sunday, May 17, 2020 • Green Bay, WI • Course Map

Green Bay Packers fans will love this race, as the half marathon course takes you inside the NFL team’s Lambeau Field for a run around the gridiron at the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay & 5K, and features a run through mostly residential streets and city parks for most of the route.

The loop course for the half marathon starts on Main Street in downtown Green Bay, and from there heads on a roughly counter-clockwise loop through this part of Green Bay, turning first on South Broadway and 5th Street.

From there, the course winds through block after block of residential neighborhoods, with a mostly fast and flat run for the race’s first few miles. The race really only begins to rise once runners reach the mile 4 point, where runners can expect a very gradual ascent to begin for the next couple of miles.

Next, the course runs along 9th Street and Shady Lane — past He-Nis-Ra Park and through Sherwood Forest Park, after which the course begins heading gradually downhill again.

The the next section of the race bring runners in to the famous Lambeau Field in the section of the city known as Ashwaubenon, where runners head into the stadium and they get to touch the famous “Tundra” turf on the field.

But the race isn’t done after leaving the stadium — runners then coast along a gradual downhill for several more miles toward the finish line at Leicht Memorial Park, near the start line.

While those running the full marathon will encounter a few more hills and changes in elevation thanks to the stretches they run along the Fox River Trail, those running the half stay within the city’s residential neighborhoods, and remain on mostly flat ground throughout their race.

Note: The full marathon, half marathon and relays are run on Sunday, while the 5K race is run on Saturday.

Is there a way to find out where the relay point is for the half marathon?
