Journeys Half Marathon, 10K & 5K

Saturday, May 9, 2020 • Eagle River, WI • Course Map

This race has been cancelled for 2020

Known around the region as a popular vacation area for hiking, fishing, canoeing and golfing in warm weather and snowmobiling and skiing in the winter, this small Wisconsin town welcomes several hundred runners, walkers and wheelchair participants each year for the Journeys Marathon.

Along with its 26.2-mile race, the event also features a half marathon, a 13.1-Mile Power Walk and a 5K, which takes the field along a gorgeous and challenging point-to-point course along rolling country roads through the Northwoods region’s lakes and forests.

From the starting line near the intersection of County Road K and East Bucktabon Lakes Road in the town of Conover, just a short drive north from Eagle River, the half-marathon course starts and follows a mostly southward route among the area lakes between the two towns, passing within sight of the shores of lakes including Lower Bucktabon Lake, Hunter Lake and Boot Lake.

The half marathon coure is the same for runners as well as walkers, who are encouraged to sign up for the event’s power walking race.

These miles of the race take runners and walkers along scenic, tree-lined roads through the forests, culminating in the home stretch of the race that takes participants through the town of Eagle River and across the bridge over the river by the same name.

The finish line lies within Riverview Park on the southern side of the Eagle River, on Railroad Street. The terrain for the race is paved surfaces throughout, and includes a number of mild rolling hills.

    Good Day,

I am reaching out to introduce the Maniac Fanatic Pace Team. Have you heard about us? My name is Sabrina and I am the team leader for the Pace Team. Running is my life’s passion. As an involved Marathon Maniac and Half Fanatic run club member, a Coach, and avid runner I am thrilled to highlight our awesome service.

We are back pacing the GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon in BC on October 11! In fact, this year will be our first International Reunion with the club members at this event. The potential for growth is awesome with a partnership.

We have over 24,000 members in our run clubs with experience racing the marathon or half marathon distance every weekend. Acceptance onto our Pace Team has strict criteria, allowing us to gather the most reliable and energetic pacers for your event. The Marathon Maniac and Half Fanatic runners have already been successfully pacing other events. Our venture is to gather the most qualified runners to be the most outstanding pacing force in the nation. We have been all over pacing events big and small including the Louisiana Marathon, Georgia and Tacoma City to name a few.

By signing on with us to pace your event you will gain immediate exposure to our run club members. Your event will be advertised on our website and promoted nationwide, potentially increasing registrations. As Race Director, the stress of finding, securing and monitoring a pace team will be out of your hands. You will be able to focus your energy on other pertinent tasks as we take on the responsibility of coordinating the pacers, pace signs, and providing pace shirts. If your event has an expo we will also staff the expo pace booth with our pacers.

Sound interesting? Please visit our website for more information and do not hesitate to contact me for more details.
